My life is extremely hectic and I usually have no one to blame but myself.

I’m the person who says yes to everything because sure I have loads of free time, except I don’t.

I have a 3 year old, a full time job and I’m studying in college. I take music lessons on a Tuesday night. Singing on Thursdays.

I’m not complaining though. I like to be busy it’s just sometimes like Ferris says, life moves quickly and sometimes you need to stop and take it all in.

That’s why I blog. I find that if I say to myself “Right take the laptop and write about something fun for an hour” it majorly takes the stress off.

I’ve always loved fashion. I’m naturally a shy person so I’ve always expressed my personality through my clothes. I’ve worked in several different areas of fashion. Everything from retail to runway, photoshoots, commercials and a couple of years ago as Deputy Fashion Editor of Music Review Unsigned.

I tried several times to start a personal blog, firstly through Tumblr, then Blogger, then Blogspot and eventually this one. I would always be very motivated at first and put up several posts but then life would happen and my writing would fall by the wayside. I kick myself now that I didn’t keep it going years ago when I started when I see my friends who started their blogs back then celebrating 4th and 5th blog anniversaries. I had it in my mind that I needed to post everyday to keep people interested but this time around I just blogged because I wanted to fashion vent and have gotten a nice band of regular readers.

I also have no ulterior motives this time around. Yes when I was a teenager I assumed being a blogger immediately meant some sort of minor celeb status and that designers would be lining up to send me products and inviting me to events. Ha! Don’t get me wrong I have since I started my blog been sent products and attended product launches but I have no notions about myself. I take it for what it is. A nice perk of my hobby. It does not mean I’m Paris Hilton.

I also know that it is not a career. Blessed are those who make their living from blogging for they are few and far between.

I also do not pretend that I know what I’m doing. I am no blogging expert. I’ve had people ask me how to get into blogging and to critique their blogs and while it’s flattering it is wholly unfounded. I’m a newbie. I know how to do my own thing and that’s it. I can help you find a great sale and a lipstick that suits your complexion but I have no idea what makes a good food, travel, sport etc… blog. Not a clue. I could not advise anyone on how to be a good blogger the only thing I can really say is write what you know. You’ll only enjoy it if it’s something you care about.

I blog because I enjoy it. I blog because of the community. And yeah I blog because blogger events are great 🙂

I hope as my blog goes on to write things a little more personal and close to my heart instead of just reviews and I’ll hope you’ll stay along and see how I get on 🙂
